SANFORD – At 09:51 today, Amy Dalrymple, Chairperson of the Board of County Commissioners declared a State of Emergency for Lee County due to worsening conditions at the Harris Nuclear Plant.
Dalrymple's proclamation authorizes officials to respond more effectively to the emergency by authorizing county government resources to assist as needed in the response.
Residents needing more information about the emergency may call the Joint Information Center at (919) 546-5950.
