No Release of Radiation from Event at Harris
Nuclear Plant
Duke Energy officials have informed Lee County authorities that an
unusual event has occurred at the Harris Nuclear Plant in southern Wake County.
No releases of radioactive material requiring public response are
expected. There is no need for alarm or concern.
County and state, along with Duke Energy officials are monitoring
the situation. Should conditions change;
additional information will be made available.
The public should stay tuned to a radio or television station serving
their area for further information.
